BOYLSTON, Mass. – The New England PGA Section is excited to announce a partnership with TGL, the new tech-forward golf league which consists of six teams of PGA TOUR superstars competing in a progressive, fast-paced form of team golf. The NEPGA will work directly with the Boston Common Golf team within TGL. Boston Common Golf is Boston’s entry into TGL and the team currently consists of Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, and Adam Scott.
The NEPGA and Boston Common Golf have collaborated to create the Boston Common Golf Pro-Am Qualifier on August 26, 2024 at Belmont Country Club. The Pro-Am Qualifier, sponsored by Titleist, will also honor the memory of Red Sox Legend, and golf enthusiast, Tim Wakefield and will raise money for Junior Golf Programming.
The Professional purse for this event is set at $7,500. The event will be limited to 40 teams of four, consisting of one NEPGA Professional and three amateur golfers. Each team must have at least one female and one male amateur golfer. The format will be 2 Best Ball of 4, 1 Gross + 1 Net and the winning teams will be honored at an on-field pregame ceremony at Fenway Park on September 8th and will include luxury suite tickets.
The top two teams will advance to a Boston Common Golf partner outing in Florida where they will play three holes with Rory, Keegan, or Adam. This event will take place in Winter 2025.
“The NEPGA looks forward to partnering with Boston Common Golf to create this amazing event. Honoring Tim Wakefield, raising money to support junior golf and potentially create an event that other TGL teams and PGA Sections can emulate in their respective regions is very exciting,” said NEPGA Executive Director, Michael Higgins.
