A beautiful summer day greeted the 42 NHC/NEPGA Professionals at Portsmouth CC for the 2023 Pro/Pro Championship. Of course it did rain overnight for the god knows how time this season, but the sun did come out early and warmed it up. There was 21 teams competing in the 1 BB tournament.
A team of new comers showed everyone they could play. Austin Baker of Souhegan Woods and Josh Lacasse of Beaver Meadow shot an impressive 9 under 63 to be crowned the NHC/NEPGA Pro/Pro Champions. Dan Wilkins of Laconia and Dan Kish of The Indoor Club came in the 2nd spot shooting 7 under. There were two teams tied for 3rd place. Portsmouth Head Professional Joe Finemore and his GM Jason Hurd tied with Mitch Jefferson and Brett Smestad, both of Rochester, with 6 under scores. Three teams tied for 5th place. Rico Riciputi of The Coach Club & Sam Cody of Stonebridge, Matt Arvantis of SNHU & Cory Mansfield of Derryfield, Phil Davis of Beaver Meadow & Matt Delois of About Golf all shot 5 under.
Thank you to the entire staff at Portsmouth CC for hosting this event. GM Jason Hurd and Head Professional Joe Finemore had the course set up nicely for this competition.
Next week the circuit travels to Rochester on Monday for a pro am. On Thursday they travel to Beaver Meadow for a make up rain out of the Pro/Lady.
