The overnight rain stopped, the sun peaked out, and the temperatures got above 50 degrees for the start of the NHC Pro Am at Wentworth by the Sea Golf Course in Rye NH. Twenty seven teams participated in the 1 gross/1 net combined format. This is the third stop on the NHC Pro am series for the 2021 season. The course was is great shape with the greens rolling fast made the course a challenge on this day.

The Professional division saw Danny Kish of Atkinson CC best the field by 4 shots and shot a 1 under par 69 to take the low pro top honors. His counterpart from Atkinson, Thomas Smith came in with a 73 to take second place in the pro contest. Brett Smestad (Rochester), John Wollen (Souhegan Woods), Jason Malcolm (Nashua), Nick Desjardins (Nashua), and Rico Riciputi (Wentworth by the Sea) all came in with 74’s to tie for the third spot. Rounding out the top ten were Jay Pollini with a 75 eight place,  Cory Mansfield and Gregg Sandell shot 77 to tie for ninth.

Kish also lead his team to the top spot by shooting a team 8 under par 132 in the team contest of 1 BB Gross/ 1 BB Net combined score. His team consisted of Cody Healy, Jack Dejesus, and Rich Simard. Coming in one behind was the team from Rochester with PGA Professional Brett Smestad and teammates Troy Joncas, Mike Mahan, and Steve Field. In third place the team from Wentworth by the Sea led by PGA Professional Rico Riciputi and teammates Don Little, Bill Cassidy, and Bob Dell Isola.

Next stop for the pro am series is Concord CC on May 17th. This will be the largest field of the year for a pro am with 37 teams scheduled to play.
