The NHC Pro am series is back at it this week after a 3 week pause. There was no pro am the week of the 4th and last week they were rained out at Pease Golf Course. The weather today is less than perfect, as the wet cloudy wet weather greeted the golfers. It did not stop the 24 teams from showing up and playing the tournament.

The low pro contest saw Dan Kish of Atkinson shoot a stellar round of 4 under 68 to take the top spot. Rich Berberian of Vesper and Jim Gunnare of Whip Poor Will came in with 1 under par 71’s to tie for 2nd place. Corey Mansfield of Derryfield, Ryan Peffer of Boston College, and Jay Pollini of Ridgewood came in with 1 over 73 to come in a tie for 4th. Rounding out the top 10 were Brett Smestad, Ryan Peffer, and Steve Hausmann shot 74’s to tie for 7th, and Mitch Jefferson shot 75 to come in 10th.

The team competition saw some good play despite the soggy conditions. Rich Berberian and his team from Vesper made up of Jeff Monahan, Daniel Villemaire, and Corey Hyssey came in at 12 under par to tie for first place. They tied the team from Atkinson with pro Dan Kish and ams, Paul Torpey, Dana Tarriconeand Zach Diamond.  Brett Smestad of Rochester with his ams Mike Mahan, Troy Joncas, and Dylan Tooch came in at 11 under par 133 to come in 3rd.

Next week the circuit travels to Nashua CC to play the Pro Lady Championship. The week after they travel to Derryfield for a pro am. Let’s hope the sun comes out for more than a few minutes a day to dry the courses up!
