The rain came and went at Stonebridge CC on Monday, this weeks stop on the NHC/NEPGA Pro am. After 5 teams teed off the thunder and lightning stopped play for 1 hour 45 minutes. When play resumed conditions were still not optimal, but the 27 teams that were there to play sucked it up and went back out on the course.

Dan Wilkins of Laconia came out firing with three birdies on his first four holes and came in at 2 under par 70 to tie for top honors for the Pros. Matt Arvanitis of SNHU came in with that same score to share first place honors. Bill Andrews from Portsmouth came away with another good round shooting one under 71, Brad Heninger of Baker Hill and Jay Pollini of Ridgewood also shot a 71 to tie for third place, one behind Wilkins & Arvanitis. Head Professional at Stonebridge, Vince Molesky to tie for the sixth spot, shooting even par 72’s. Rounding out the top ten were Brett Smestad of Rochester had a 73 to place eighth, and Mitch Jefferson from Rochester and Thomas Smith of Atkinson shot 74’s to tie for ninth. .

In the team contest Matt Arvanitis and his team from SNHU came in at fourteen under par 130 to take the team division. His teammates were Steve Johnston, Derek Jensen, and Dave Perry. Dan Wilkins also led his team from Laconia to a thirteen under 131 to come in second in the  1 BB Gross/1 BB Net combined format. His team consisted of Steve Wainwright, Mike Handrahan, & Randy Pike. Coming in third was the team from Nashua led by Nick Desjardins, they shot 132. Two teams, one from Rochester led by Brett Smestad, and one from Intervale led by Matt Thibeault tied for fourth place with 133’s.

Thank you to all the players who toughed out the weather today.  Next week the circuit makes a stop at Keene CC for their 8th event of the year.

Patrick DeAngelo of NE Golf Cars was today partner. Pat is getting some putting practice in while the players are on the course.

Chris Pollard of Eastman chips on on the 9th hole. He put it a foot away.

Steve Hausmann of Amherst was not pleased with this shot on the ninth hole. He came in with an even par 72 to tie for 6th place.
