The NHC/NEPGA held it’s annual Pro Pro Championship at Portsmouth CC on Monday, August 16. The course is in great shape, the sun was shining, and with little wind it saw some good scoring on this day. The tournament is a 2 man best ball tournament with 16 teams (32 PGA Professionals) participating.

Matt Arvanitis of SNHU, recent winner of the NHC Championship, and his partner Cory Mansfield of Derryfield, scorched the course, shooting an 11 under 61 to best the field by 5 strokes. They started with a birdie on the first hole and after 9 holes were 6 under par. The back nine saw much of the same as they made 3 birdies and Arvanitis sunk it from 117 yards on the 18th hole for an eagle to cap off the day. There were 3 teams tied for 2nd place with 6 under par 66’s. They were Dan Kish of Atkinson and partner Dan Wilkins of Laconia, Jason Malcolm and Nick Desjardins both from Nashua, and Jason Sendan of Lake Winnipesaukee GC and Greg Sandell of Golf Club of NE. In 5th place was the team from Rochester, Mitch Jefferson and Brett Smestad, they came in with a 68.

Thank you to Portsmouth CC for hosting this great event for the professionals. We look forward to next year.
