Barre, VT – The Vermont Chapter returned to the Country Club of Barre on Monday for the annual Pro-Senior, bringing professionals and their amateur partners together for another great day of competition on the Chapter schedule.

Leading the way in the individual professional contest was Kellen Peery of Golf Garage VT, who fired a 3-under-par 68 to capture the title. Peery carded five birdies on his way to the low round of the day and finished two shots clear of the field.

Jackson King of Newport Country Club continued his strong summer with a 1-under 70 to finish second, while Curt Goldsberry of The Quechee Club posted an even-par 71 to take third. Michael Amendola followed with a 74, and Jon Benson rounded out the top five with a 75.

The team competition featured separate 2 Best Balls Gross and 2 Best Balls Net contests, with teams eligible to earn a top finish in only one division.

In the gross competition, Williston Golf Club, led by professional Todd Trono, put together the round of the day with a 5-under-par 137 to claim first place. Newport Country Club, led by King, finished second at 2-under 140. The Kwini Club, led by Jason Sherman, earned the final awarded position with a 1-under-par 141.

The net side produced even lower numbers and a tie at the top of the leaderboard. The Quechee Club, led by Goldsberry, finished at 12-under-par 130 to earn first place. With Trono’s Williston team already earning the top gross finish, Williston Golf Club, led by Michael Amendola, took second in the net competition after posting a 10-under 132. Peery and the Golf Garage VT team rounded out the top three at 9-under-par 133.

It was a strong day throughout the field and another successful edition of an event that gives Vermont PGA Professionals an opportunity to compete alongside some of the senior golfers who support their facilities throughout the season.

A special thank you goes to Joe Dingledine and the entire Country Club of Barre staff for welcoming the Chapter and providing a great setting for the event. The Vermont Chapter would also like to recognize Cory Yudkin and Cobra Puma Golf for their support as a presenting sponsor and their continued commitment to Vermont PGA Professionals.

Congratulations to Kellen Peery and all of Monday’s individual and team winners!
