BOOTHBAY, ME- The Maine Chapter held its second championship of the season, the Pro-Pro Stroke Play Championship, one week after contesting the Pro-Am Championship. 28 Maine Chapter PGA Professionals teed it up at Boothbay Harbor CC in 36-hole fourball stroke play competition. The home team of Chad Penman and Greg Martin took home the title for the second consecutive year with an impressively low score of 17-under across two rounds.

COMPLETE RESULTS

The Boothbay Harbor duo started their day with consecutive pars before making their first of many birdies on the par-4 4th hole. After going out in 3-under 33, they really found their stride on the back nine making 5-birdies to finish with a first-round score of 63. The other Boothbay Harbor team comprised of Griffin Andrews and Nick Hocker, also put together a fantastic first round of 6-under 65 and sat just two shots back heading into round two.

The team of Leon Oliver (Sheescot Links) and Eric Dugas (J.W. Parks Golf Course) as well as the team of Shawn Warren and Sean Barrett (Falmouth CC) fired opening rounds of 68 to sit in a tie for 3rd place.

Penman and Martin wasted no time getting under par again in their second round, making birdie on holes 1 and 2 on their way to a 6-under 30 on the front 9. They continued their strong play on the back shooting a 3-under 32 to finish 8-under on the round and 17-under overall. Andrews and Hocker continued their strong play, making six birdies on their way to a second round 67. However, that was not enough to keep up with Penman and Martin who recorded a seven-shot victory.

Warren and Barrett finished at 8-under overall to grab 3rd place, with Jeff Seavey (Goose River Golf Course) and John Hickson (Northport Golf Course) finished in 4th place at 3-under par.
