2025 Pro Senior Champions, Derryfield CC, Lance Pelley, Sean Lacey, Steve Poremba and Carl Lang

Steve Poremba of Derryfield CC had himself a day at Pease on Monday. First off, he captained his team of Lance Pelley, Carl Lang and Sean Lacey to the 2025 NHPGA Pro Senior Championship title with a 14 under par 128. He also tied for Low Professional with Dan Wilkins of Laconia CC with a 3 under par 68. If that wasn’t enough, he buried his tee shot on the par 3, 9th hole into the bottom of the cup for a hole in one. When asked how he felt, he responded “I was just seeing it today, for the first time in a long time, I was just seeing it.”

Four players tied for third, one shot behind Poremba and Wilkins including Sam Read (Den Brae), Lewis Pattullo (Nashua CC), Trevor Moore (Beaver Meadow) and Joe Finemore (Portsmouth CC), all at 69. Finemore, with his finish edged into the top spot in the Davis and Towle Player of the Year points race.

Two Portsmouth teams led by Finemore and Billy Andrews tied for 2nd in the 2 Best Ball Gross category at -12.

Ben Stone, also of Derryfield and Trevor Moore of Beaver Meadow led their teams to a tie atop the Best 2 Balls Net Division at 12 under par 130. Stone was joined by Scott Kenniston, Pete Franggos and Danny Franggos, while Moore teamed up with Steve Potoczak, John Beaudoin and Rob Parsi.

Thanks to PGA Professionals Scott DeVito and Tim Riese along with Superintendent EJ Chea for once again hosting this popular event alongside the runway. Also thanks to the Grill 28 Restaurant crew and all the staff at Pease. This is the busiest golf facility in New Hampshire, and they make it look easy.

Next week we’ll take our annual trek to the North Conway CC for the NHPGA Chapter Championship. Sunday will feature the Pro-Member event with our Chapter Professionals teaming up with the North Conway Members. The top 10 Pro scores from this event will compete in the shootout on Monday afternoon which always draws a good crowd of spectators.

The Championship and Senior Championship will be contested on Monday and Tuesday where Jay Pollini and Eric Sandstrum will look to defend their 2024 titles.
