RUTLAND, VT – The Vermont Chapter of the New England PGA continued its 2026 tournament season on Monday, July 6th, with the Rutland Country Club Pro-Am. A strong field of Vermont Chapter Professionals and their amateur partners enjoyed a tremendous day at one of the state’s classic golf venues.
Rutland Country Club once again proved to be an excellent host and a complete test of golf. The course was in great condition, with firm greens, well-positioned hazards, and a layout that rewarded smart decisions from tee to green. As the day progressed, the challenge grew even stronger. Afternoon groups faced steady wind and increasingly firm putting surfaces, making distance control and patience especially important. Approach shots became more difficult to hold, and players had to be disciplined in choosing the proper targets around Rutland’s demanding greens.
In the team competition, Dustin Ribolini of The Quechee Club led Mike Sullivan, Jay Zanleoni, and Rick Fedele to the top of the leaderboard with rounds of 65 and 62 for a 13-under-par total of 127. Their steady play was enough to edge the Golf Garage VT team of Kellen Peery, Craig Oshkello, Cory Sweitzer, and Bryce Terborgh, who finished one shot back at 12-under-par. Jason Sherman and The Kwini Club team of Mark Manley, Adam Whalley, and Jeff Kenneson finished third at 9-under-par.
Two teams shared fourth place at 8-under-par: Jackson King and Newport Country Club’s team of Travis Terrell, Dana Jacobs, and Michael Jacobs, along with Michael Amendola and the Williston Golf Club team of Chris Chappell, Matt Johnson, and Michael Bouvier. Kevin Bennison and the Burlington Country Club team of Steve Offenhartz, Andy Thomson, and Jeff Buckman rounded out the paid positions at 7-under-par.
In the Individual Professional competition, Jackson King of Newport Country Club posted the low round of the day with a 1-under-par 69. Kevin Bennison of Burlington Country Club finished second with a 71, while Kellen Peery, Ryan Howard, and Michael Amendola tied for third at 72. Susan Fasoldt finished sixth with a 74.
The Vermont Chapter would like to extend a special thank you to Jeff Flis and the entire Rutland Country Club staff for their hospitality and efforts in hosting another outstanding Chapter event. The course, staff, and overall operation helped create a memorable day of competition for all involved.
The Chapter schedule continues next Monday at the Country Club of Vermont. That event is currently on a waitlist, and we are excited to see another strong field as the summer schedule continues to build momentum.
