FULL RESULTS

Devin Prince of Milton, Massachusetts took home the title for his first major win, shooting a -7, 75-62-137. In one of the greatest scores in the 30 years of NEPGA Junior Tour, Prince put on an unforgettable show in the second round, scoring a 10-under performance to explode him from T17 to the top.

After a solid first round, shooting a +3, 75, Prince used that motivation heading into the second round to defy all odds.

“Seeing that I was T-17th after the first day, [the score] definitely didn’t make me insanely happy, Prince exclaims. “I felt as if I played myself out of contention. When I showed up to the first tee today, I’m like ‘Let’s see what I can do, I’m not going out without a fight.’”

Prince made his statement heard, shoving 10 birdies in his second round, including a 6 hole stretch from holes 11 through 17. Not only is this one of the best 18 hole rounds the NEPGA Junior Tour has ever seen, it is also one of the biggest jumps in a 2-day tournament leaderboard to win, flying up 17 spots.

Noah Patel of Boston, Massachusetts placed second in the Bay State Cup, shooting an impressive -6, 68-70-147. Patel had a strong 2 days, playing consistent golf throughout the 36 holes, combining 10 birdies and an eagle in the second round after driving the green on hole 17.

Cecily Henshon of Longmeadow, Massachusetts placed first in the Girls’ Overall Division, shooting a combined +4, 74-74-148. Henshon went back to back 2-over 18 hole rounds, and stayed in the top spot throughout, beating out the competition by 11 strokes.

Henshon built her success through the combined 7 birdies she made during the tournament, including an interesting one on hole 17 in her second round. Henshon found the fairway bunker off her drive, and lifted her ball over the green for a shorter chip. Her approach took an aggressive line, but prevailed as her ball struck the pin and trickled into the hole to notch a 3.

Reva Machanavajhula of Billerica, Massachusetts finished in the runner-up position, shooting a combined +15, 82-77-159. Strong finishes on both days kept her in contention, and her bounce back round on day 2 was the ultimate decision, as she goes home with the award.

Congratulations to the champions and runner-ups and thank you to all players in the 2 days for participating! Thank you to Head Professional, Chris Anthony, PGA, and the entire Olde Scotland Links staff for hosting the event!
