After three weeks with specialty events the NHC/NEPGA Pro am circuit is back in the swing of things. Today they traveled to Rochester Country Club to play a 1 BB Gross/1 BB Net combined team event. Twenty-nine teams ((116 players) made the trek to compete in todays event. The rain was supposed to come, but again the weathermen were wrong and the rain held off most of the day.

The Pro Division saw Matt Arvanitis of SNHU shoot a 1 under 71 to best the field and take first place. Matt made 6 birdies and was 5 under with 2 holes to go. He stumbled on the last 2 but was able to hold on for the top spot. Sam Cody of Stonebridge, Mitch Jefferson of Rochester, Darin Chin-Aleong of Rowley, and Dan Kish of Atkinson all  came in with even par 72’s to tie for 2nd place. Brett Smestad of Rochester and Matt Delois of About Golf shot 73’s to tie for 6th place. Todd Rollins of Laconia shot 74 to come in 8th. There was a 6 way tie for 9th that had to be carded out for the purse payment. Allison Mitzell, Walter Reeves, and Jim Gunnare all shot 75 and carded out 3 other players.

The team contest of 1 BB Gross & 1 BB Net Combined saw the home team from Rochester led by Mitch Jefferson shoot a 14 under 130 to take the top spot in the team contest. His team consisted of Sean Johnson, Brett Chavaree, and Chris Catalfo. SNHU led by Matt Arvanitis come in with an 11 under 133 to come in 2nd alone. The other team members were Matt Burroughs, Dave Perry, and Jim Cardoso. The team from Lake Winnipesaukee led by Jason Sedan shot a 10 under 134 to tie for 2nd place with the   from Hoodkroft led by Eric Soderman. Sedan’s team consisted of Mike Ianello, Charles Clement IV, and David Isley, while Soderman’s team consisted of Jim Tokanel, Casey McCoole, and Brian Nadeau.

Next week the circuit heads north to The Omni Mt. Washington Golf course in Bretton Woods.  Another large field is scheduled to play the scenic golf course.
