EAST FALMOUTH, Mass- Cold and windy weather has been following the Cape Cod Chapter this spring as the players at The Cape Club Pro-Am were once again met with difficult conditions on Tuesday.
On a day where scoring proved difficult, the Sandwich Hollows GC team separated themselves from the pack shooting a 8-under par 136 in the 2 BB of 4 competition. That score left them seven shots ahead of the second-place finisher, Brockton Country Club.
Sandwich Hollows was represented by PGA Professional Tom Tobey and his amateur partners, Chris George, Michael Boden, and Rick Kendrew. Sandwich Hollows was able to limit their mistakes making only two bogeys and were propelled by eagles on holes 3, 9, and 18.
PGA Professional Ae Cahill took home the victory in the Individual Professional competition by shooting a round of 4-over par 76. He narrowly edged out Robert Bradley (Brockton CC) and Ben Egan (The Bay Club) who both recorded rounds of 77. After starting the day with a triple bogey, Cahill was able to right the ship going out in 4-over 40. On the back nine, he made five pars to go along with two birdies and two bogeys to shoot even-par 36 to secure the victory.
The Cape Cod Chapter’s tournament schedule will take a break until June 1st and 2nd when it will host back to back tournaments at the Hyannisport Club and Miacomet Golf Course!
Thank you to The Cape Club’s Head Golf Professional, Ryan Payne, PGA, Assistant Professional Golf James Cook, Director of Agronomy Pete Ervin, and Course Superintendent Marc Almeida for hosting the Cape Cod Chapter!
