PLYMOUTH, Mass- White Cliffs Country Club played host to the annual Cape Cod Chapter Pro-Lady Championship on June 16th. The players were greeted with scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean on the challenging par 62 layout.
The Pro-Lady features a unique format from the usual Pro-Am circuit, crowning champions in three separate competitions. Sandwich Hollows Golf Club led by PGA Professional Tom Tobey finished atop the leaderboard in the 1 BB of 4 Gross division with an impressive 8-under 54 which was good for a 4-shot victory. He was joined by amateur partners Diane Ducie, Patra Duangpakot, and Gina Deleo. Their 8 birdies on the day led the field for the day and they were the only team not to record a single bogey.
The 1 BB of 4 Net division ended in a tie between a pair of teams from LeBaron Hills Country Club led by PGA Professionals Tom Rooney and Edward Dobbins. Both LeBaron teams finished with a net score of 8-under 54. Rooney’s team was aided by two net 1’s on the par-3 7th and 18th, while Dobbins’ team played extremely consistent golf throughout the round registering nine birdies against only a single bogey.
Ben Egan of The Bay Club captured the individual professional title recording a score on 1-over 63. In a tie for second place was Bryan Kienke (Cohasset GC) and Tom Tobey (Sandwich Hollows GC) each with a score of 3-over 65. Rounding out the top five was Frank Leja (The Club at New Seabury) and Tom Rooney with rounds of 66 and 67 respectively.
