PLYMOUTH, Mass. – Greg Yeomans and his juniors from The Bay Club at Mattapoisett won the Cape Cod Pro-Junior on Tuesday for the second consecutive year.
The Pro-Junior which is annually one of the best days on the Chapter’s schedule is host by Squirrel Run CC and features a unique format. Teams are made up on one PGA Professional and four junior golfers, the team score consists of the 1 best ball between the Professionals score and a scramble played by the four juniors.
The Bay Club team led by Yeomans narrowly secured a second consecutive victory winning by one shot with a score of 13-under 44 on the par 57 track. Yeomans was joined on the winning team by junior golfers Jack Fearsons, Brady Mills, Grady Oliveira, and Braden Yeomans. Yeomans and company made an eagle, eleven birdies and five pars on their way to victory. Their eagles on the par-4 9th hole was one of only two eagles made the entire day.
The Bay Club team led by Ben Egan as well as the team from Marshfield CC finished one-shot off the lead with rounds of 12-under 45.
The Individual Professional competition finished with a tie between LeBaron Hills Ae Cahill and Marshfield CC’s James Antonelli who each fired rounds of 5-under 52. Cahill led the field with six birdies on the day to go along with a single bogey. Antonelli recorded five birdies on the day and joined Cohasset’s Bryan Kienke as the only two pros to play bogey free rounds.
