POCASSET, Mass- Pocasset Golf Club played host to the Cape Cod Chapter’s first event of the season on Thursday. The 23 teams in the field were greeted by a beautiful April day at the Donald Ross designed track.
Frank Leja, PGA and his team from the Club at New Seabury took home the title in the 2 BB of 4 competition with a score of 12-under 132. The squad recorded eleven birdies and one eagle during their round, including a stretch of four straight birdies to finish their day.
In a tie for second place were the teams from The Ridge Club and Woods Hole GC, led by PGA Professionals Matt Baran and Zach Mahan.
The shot of the day came from The Ridge Club’s Russ Guertin who carded his first career ace on the 152 yard par-3 15th hole. Congratulations to Russ!
Brendan Reilly, PGA finished as the Low Professional with a score of 2-under 70. Reilly played flawless golf recording birdies on the 5th and 16th hole, he then kept his card clean making par on the remaining 16 holes. Matt Baran and Bobby Williams (The Cape Club) finished in a tie for second place with rounds of 1-over 73.
