PLYMOUTH, Mass- Third time’s a charm as White Cliffs Country Club played host to the annual Cape Cod Chapter Pro-Lady Championship on Thursday. After two June rainouts the field of 18 teams fought through windy conditions all while enjoying stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Pro-Lady features a unique format from the usual Pro-Am circuit, crowning champions in three separate competitions: Low Professional, 1 BB of 4 Gross, and 1 BB of 4 Net.
The Cape Club’s James Cook stole the show shooting an outstanding 3-under 59 in extremely tough conditions. Cook made 5 birdies on the day and only two bogeys on his way to victory. In a tie for second place was Cape Cod National’s Gregg Richbourg and Needham GC’s Geoff Piva each of whom recorded a score of 6-over 68.
Cook’s 59 was also good enough to take home to 1 BB of 4 title edging out Sandwich Hollows GC and Brockton CC by 4 shots. In the 1 BB of 4 Net contest, White Cliffs own, Chris Daly and his team shot an impressive 10-under 52 to take home the victory. Trailing behind them in a tie for second was White Cliffs (Baptist) and Seaweed Golf at 7-under 55.
Thank you to White Cliffs Country Club Head Golf Professional Rick Baptist, PGA and Sales & Catering Manager Cheryl Notartomaso for being terrific hosts!
