READING, Mass.- The Massachusetts Chapter held it’s second Pro-Am of the season on Thursday at Meadow Brook Golf Club. It was crowded at the top of the leaderboard, as there was a three-way tie for first at 9-under 135 in the team competition.

COMPLETE RESULTS

Two of the three winning teams came from the home course, as PGA Professionals Steve Sheridan and Josh Brickley in addition to  their amateur partners from Meadow Brook GC put on a great performance at their home club. The third winning team was led by PGA Life Member Carl Marchio, who made a home coming of his own. Marchio, who grew up just down the road from Meadow Brook, made a memorable return to his childhood course as he and his teammates tied for the win.

Kevin Franey of Ferncroft Country Club took home the Individual Professional title by shooting a 3-over 75. He bested Bass Rocks GC’s Todd Scarafoni by a single shot. It was a tale of two nines for Franey who started off his round by making a bogey and double bogey on his firs two holes. After making the turn at 5-over 41 his chances of winning looked slim. Franey never gave up hope and he caught fire on the back nine, recording 4 birdies and firing a 2-under 34. It was quite the turnaround for Franey and his play was very deserving of the win.

Next on the schedule for the Chapter is the Fall Meeting Pro-Pro hosted by Cyprian Keyes on Monday, October 25th.

Thank you to Meadow Brook Golf Club’s Head Professional Steve Sheridan, Assistant Professional Josh Brickley, and General Manager Ron.  The Massachusetts Chapter would also like to thank its partner for this event, the PGA Tour!
