BOYLSTON, MASS. – Tim Murphy joins the New England PGA Section on Monday, April 1, 2024 as the Tournament Coordinator. He joins the team with a strong background in golf operations.

“We are very excited to have Tim join our team. His experience and knowledge will help our tournament operations tremendously as we continue to elevate offerings for our PGA of America Professionals,” said Executive Director, Michael Higgins.

Tim comes to the New England PGA following his time in Richmond, VA with the Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) where he helped to oversee championships and golf operations for the state’s golf association.

Prior to the VSGA, Murphy worked in the bag room and professional shop at Worcester Country Club and was a P.J. Boatwright intern with Mass Golf, where he gained valuable experience in golf administration while working alongside the championship department staff for a summer.

“I am extremely excited and honored to be joining the New England PGA team,” said Murphy. “I look forward to working with the staff in event management at the Professional, Amateur, and Junior levels while providing outstanding service to NEPGA Members”.

Murphy is a Paxton, Massachusetts native and avid golfer who began playing competitively on the NEPGA Junior Tour while attending Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury. He went on to play for the Assumption University golf team, serving as captain in his fourth and final year, and graduated in May of 2023 with a major in marketing and minor in sports management.

Tim enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and cheering on his favorite New England sports teams.
