FULL LEADERBOARDEAST PROVIDENCE, RI-Team Triggs-Tramonti captained by Robert Tramonti, PGA leading Joe Branca, Bob Xavier, Bob Rossi to a solid 5-under par 135. It was picturesque day in East Providence as 13 teams from the Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Cape Cod Chapters arrived at Metacomet Country Club to test their skills on this challenging Donald Ross design. What looked to be a very benign round of golf that soon showed its teeth and defend against a leisurely day in the park. Off the first tee there were many great tee shots hit by all competitors that soared gracefully into the breeze coming off the barge boat in the bay. There were teams that started off hot and then went south, and then there were teams that started off quietly and picked it up to post a few sub par rounds. Tough pins, fast greens, and windy conditions that picked up for the late day ultimately proved to be not to so overbearing for the team from Triggs Memorial. Congratulations to Triggs Memorial for taking the top spot in the Team portion and Robert Tramonti, PGA for taking the top spot in the individual professional contest.
