NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI- The Rhode Island Chapter opened it’s 2021 tournament season today with a Pro-Pro Scramble at North Kingstown Golf Course.  The team of Shane Drury and Brian Owens, both from North Kingstown GC, were able to defend their home turf finishing in a tie for first with PGA Members Chris Kasheta and Michael Elliott at 8-under 62.

Drury and Owens started their round strong by going 5-under on the front nine and were able to follow that up with a trio of birdies on holes fourteen through sixteen.  They finished their round blemish free with no bogeys on the card.

Kasheta and Elliott also went 5-under on the front nine and were able to overcome bogeys on the eighth and thirteenth holes to tie for the victory.  Their 10 birdies made lead the field for the day.

Finishing in third place, was the team of Bob Tramonit (Triggs Memorial GC) and Ed Kirby (The Aquidneck Club) who were one shot off the lead at 7-under 63.
