FITCHBURG, Mass. – The NEPGA held the Section’s Pro-Officer Invitational on Monday, June 24th at Oak Hill Country Club in Fitchburg, Mass. The day was spectacular as 100 players and 71 teams came out to compete over 18 holes of golf.

Two teams took home a share of first place in the 1 Best Ball of 2 Gross division. The Bay Club at Mattapoisett team of Ben Egan, PGA and Linda Bodenmann shot an even-par 72 (36-36) while the Foxborough Country Club team of Steven Field, PGA and Lou Carangelo shot even-par 70 (35-35) on the day. Frank Dully, PGA from Kernwood Country Club and his partner, Stuart O’Connor claimed first place in the Net division, shooting 8-under, 62. Field and Carangelo also finished second in the Net division at 7-under, 63.

Egan and Bodemann kicked off the round on the par-4 third hole. They carded three birdies on the par-5 7th hole, par-5 10th hole, and par-3 17th hole.

Field and Carangelo started the day on the par-5 7th hole and posted one of their two birdies right off the bat. Their second birdie came on another par-5, the 10th hole, as they took home a share of first place.

An incredible eight teams tied for third place in the 1 Best Ball of 2 Gross division shooting just 1-over par. Rick Finlayson, PGA and David Erickson from Franklin CC, Egan and Mimi Coolidge from The Bay Club at Mattapoisett, Dully and O’Connor from Kernwood CC, David Dionne, PGA and Joe Shackleton from Beverly G&T, Mike Elliot, PGA and Jeff Raymon from Oak Hill CC, Hal Jacobs PGA and Andrew Drayer from Wellesley CC, Shawn Durocher, PGA and Steve Holmes from Cyprian Keyes GC, and Dana Smith, PGA and Michael Deady from Presidents GC.

Congratulations to Joe Nottie from Kirkbrae Country Club who knocked in a hole-in-one on the par-3 17th hole!

NEPGA partner, Superior Communication Services ran a closest to the pin contest on the par-3 5th hole to win a Verkada CM22 Mini Dome Camera. Congratulations to PJ Breton, PGA from Tatnuck Country Club who won the contest, coming within 3 feet, 4 inches of the pin!
