FITCHBURG, Mass. – The NEPGA Pro-Officer Invitational was held on Monday, June 26th at Oak Hill in Fitchburg, Mass. The conditions were less than favorable as 114 players battled through downpouring rains throughout the round. Two teams took home a share of first place, shooting 5-under, 65s on the day. The Wollaston GC team of Liam Friedman, PGA and Damien Coffey along with the Franklin CC team of Rick Finlayson, PGA and Eric Marr, finished on top of the leaderboard. Friedman and Coffey also took home first place in the net best ball division, shooting 10-under.

Two teams claimed a share of second place. The team from Portsmouth CC or Joseph Finemore, PGA and Nick Kalil, along with the duo from Wollaston GC of Jeff Martin, PGA and Brad Porter, shot best ball scores of 4-under, 66.

Rick Finlayson, PGA from Franklin CC and his teammate, Bob Deflaminis finished second in the net best ball division, shooting a score of 8-under, 62.

Friedman and Coffey teed off from the 12th hole to start the day. The birdied their first hole of the day on the par-4 15th hole and added another birdie on the par-3 17th hole. Birdies on the par-4 4th and 9th holes as well as the par-5 10th hole gave them the final 5-under in the best ball division for a share of first place.

Finlayson and Marr started off the day with a birdie on the par-4 15th hole. Another birdie at the par-4 1st hole put them at 2-under through five holes. A bogey on 4 brought them to 1-under, but the duo finished strong with birdies on 9, 11, 13, and 14 to close the day with a 5-under, 65 and a share of the title in the best ball division.

The NEPGA welcomed partners from Five Star Golf Cars (EZ-GO/CUSHMAN/TEXTRON), Donald Ross, Tournament Solutions, and Superior Communications Services. Representatives joined the NEPGA Members for the day of golf..
