WOODSTOCK, Vt. –  The Vermont Chapter kicked off it’s 2021 tournament season yesterday at Woodstock Country Club with their annual Spring Pro-Pro.  The tournament which traditionally is accompanied by the Chapter’s Spring Meeting, saw a fantastic field of 24 PGA Professionals and Chapter sponsors.  The Day had a celebratory atmosphere, and the players were thrilled to be back on the course after what has been a long winter.

COMPLETE RESULTS

The players were paired into teams of four via a blind draw and competed against each other in a 1 best ball of 4 format.  It was a tightly contested tournament with four of the six teams finishing within two shots of each other.  In a tie for first place was the team of Dave Christy (PGA Life Member), Zac Temple (The Quechee Club), Patrick Berry (Dorset Field Club) , and Peter Weatherby (Ekwanok CC) as well as the team of Dustin Ribolini (The Quechee Club), Curtis Goldsberry (The Quechee Club), Paul Politano (Ralph Myhre GC), and Evan Carty (Burlington CC) both finishing at 6-under 64.

Christy’s team, which started their round on the 3rd hole, got off to a slow start making their only bogey of the day at the 4th hole.  However, after that they found their stride making 3 consecutive birdies on holes 6 through 8.  They then followed that up with 4 birdies on the back nine to finish out their round of 6-under.

Ribolini’s team played steady golf out of the gate, finishing their first nine holes at 1-under par.  They then caught fire on their last nine holes making 6 birdies along with one bogey.  This great stretch of play was good enough to share the victory.

The Vermont Chapter would like to thank the presenting partner of this event Jim Mayo who represents Bushnell, Antigua, Imperial and Jack Jolly & Son Inc.  Jim provided the entire field with a fantastic tee gift from Imperial, as well as Bushnell Wingman GPS Speaker to the winner of closest to the pin competition on the 7th hole.

The Supporting Sponsor of the event was the PGA Tour.

Thank you as well to PGA Professional Matt Closter and the entire staff at Woodstock Country Club for hosting a fantastic day.

Up next on the Vermont Chapter’s schedule is the Brattleboro Country Club Pro-Am on May 10th.  Registration is still open click HERE to sign-up!
