GREENLAND, N.H. – Shawn Warren, PGA, made six birdies and just one bogey to win the NEPGA Portsmouth Pro-Am with a five-under 67 while helping his Falmouth CC Pro-Am team to victory in the team competition as well. The Pro-Am team posted a winning score of -14 at Portsmouth CC.

Warren birdied five of his first 10 holes to get to five-under par, and traded a bogey for another birdie over his final eight holes to win the pro competition by three strokes.

“It was pretty steady throughout,” Warren said of his round on Monday. “The big thing for me it was just getting it off the tee. I drove it pretty well and was able to hit a lot of short irons and was fortunate enough to hole a bunch of putts.”

Rico Riciputi, PGA (Wentworth By the Sea) carded four birdies and two bogeys to take second place with a two-under par 70. Brian Moskevich, PGA, of Manchester CC was, was in the group just one stroke behind Riciputi. Moskevich turned in one-over 37 after a birdie on seven and a double-bogey on the eight, and got it under par on the back nine with birdies on the 11th and 13th holes to go with seven pars to post 71.

Kirk Hanefeld, PGA, and Nathan Hopley, PGA both joined Moskevich at one-under with matching 71s. Hanefeld’s (Salem CC) round was highlighted by birdies on the 10th, 11th and 14th holes to go with six pars on the back-nine after he made the turn in two-over 38. Hopley (Turner Hill GC) used back-to-back birdies on the 3rd and 4th holes, his 12th and 13th of the day, to get under par and kept it there with pars on his final five holes to get into a tie for second.

The Derryfield CC team, led by PGA Professional Cory Mansfield, went seven-under on the front and five-under on the back with just one team bogey on the day to tie for second in the Pro-Am with a team score of -12.

Wentworth By The Sea, led by Riciputi, was bogey-free and recorded eight birdies and two eagles as a team to match Derryfield at -12. Danny Kish, PGA, and his team from Atkinson Resort obliterated the back nine, going eight under as a team en route to a -11 team score to finish fourth.
