“It was pretty steady throughout,” Warren said of his round on Monday. “The big thing for me it was just getting it off the tee. I drove it pretty well and was able to hit a lot of short irons and was fortunate enough to hole a bunch of putts.”

Rico Riciputi, PGA (Wentworth By the Sea) carded four birdies and two bogeys to take second place with a two-under par 70. Brian Moskevich, PGA, of Manchester CC was, was in the group just one stroke behind Riciputi. Kirk Hanefeld, PGA, and Nathan Hopley, PGA both joined Moskevich at one-under with matching 71s. Hanefeld’s (Salem CC) round was highlighted by birdies on the 10th, 11th and 14th holes to go with six pars on the back-nine after he made the turn in two-over 38. Hopley (Turner Hill GC) used back-to-back birdies on the 3rd and 4th holes, his 12th and 13th of the day, to get under par and kept it there with pars on his final five holes to get into a tie for second.
