BELMONT, Mass. – The New England PGA Section hosted the first-ever Boston Common Golf Pro-Am Qualifier on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Belmont Country Club in Belmont, Mass. The format was a 2 BB of 4 (1 Gross + 1 Net), must be different balls. Each team was required to have at least one female and one male amateur represented on their teams. 26 teams, totaling 104 players, came out to compete in the inaugural event. The top two teams earned a spot to play in the Boston Common Golf Partner outing in Florida in the Winter of 2025. The teams will have a chance to play holes with Keegan Bradley, Rory McIlroy or Adam Scott at the event and will also be honored on-field during a Red Sox pregame at Fenway Park on Sept. 8th.

The event was held in memory of Red Sox Legend and golf enthusiast, Tim Wakefield and all proceeds support Junior Golf.

Hal Jacobs, PGA (Wellesley CC) led his team to victory, as they shot an 8-under, 134 in the 2 BB of 4 (1 Gross + 1 Net) division and earned a spot to play in the Boston Common Golf Partner Outing this winter in Florida. Jacobs also finished second in the Individual Professional division, shooting 1-over, 72. He marked down four birdies on his scorecard throughout the round.

Three teams finished in a tie for second place, shooting 6-under, 136, as a team. Zach Mahan, PGA and his team from Woods Hole GC, Michael Sullivan, PGA led his team from Thorny Lea GC, and Danny Kish, PGA joined the groups in second place with his team from The Indoor Golf Club.

Kish and his team from The Indoor Golf Club won the card-off for the second place spot and will be the second team representing the NEPGA at the Boston Common Golf Partner Outing in Florida.

Aaron Walker, PGA (Worcester CC) led the Individual Professional division, shooting 1-under, 70, to claim first place. He carded four birdies on the day.
