PLYMOUTH, Mass- White Cliffs Country Club played host to the annual Pro-Lady Championship on June 17th. The par-62 course greeted players with a challenging layout and scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The day saw the Chapter crown champions in three separate competitions. Sandwich Hollows Golf Club led by PGA Professional Tom Tobey finished atop the leaderboard in the 1 BB of 4 Gross division with an impressive 4-under 58. Their best stretch of the day came on holes fifteen through seventeen where they made three consecutive birdies.
The 1 BB of 4 Net division ended in a tie between LeBaron Hills Country Club and Marshfield Country Club at a score of 9-under par. PGA Professional Tom Rooney and his teammates from LeBaron Hills played lights out on the back nine which features eight par-3’s. They made six birdies through that stretch to post a 23 on the back.
James Antonelli and Marshfield Country Club also played their best golf on the back nine. The highlight of the day for the team came on the 14th hole when amateur Margaret Smoragiewicz made a birdie on the 120-yard par-3 to card a net-1.
Peter Ruymann (Oyster Harbors Club), Tom Tobey, and Alec Vozzella (Marshfield CC) finished in a tie for first for low professional honors, each of them shot a 3-over 65.
