WILLISTON, Vt. – Williston Golf Club played host to the Vermont Chapter Pro-Lady on Monday, the home team led by PGA Professional Toby Young did not disappoint firing an impressive round of 4-under to capture the 2 BB of 4 Gross title.

Young was joined on the Williston team by his partners Annie Goff, Ann O’Day, and Sue Storey. The foursome were the lone team to finish under par on the day winning by eight shots. Williston shined on their front nine, making birdies on holes 1, 6, and 9 to go along with an eagle on the 5th hole to record a front nine score of 5-under 67.

The back nine proved to be a tougher test for Williston. After two pars to start their back nine, the team alternated making birdies and bogeys on holes 12 through 13 ultimately playing the back in 1-over 73. The second-place team in the gross competition was Sugarbush Golf Club finishing at 4-over on the day. PGA Professional Roger King was joined by Kathy Kemp, Carol McGowan, and Diane Stowell.

Vermont National Country Club posted a round of 16-under 128 to win the 2 BB of 4 net division. The team of Pete Scrimgeour, Julie Dale, Sara Beth Marroquin, and Shani Mekler made an impressive six net eagles to power them to victory. Finishing in second place in the net division was the Burlington CC team who shot 11-under 133.

Toby Young’s successful day did not end in the team competition as he also won the individual professional competition with a 1-over 72. Young led the field with five birdies in his round which helped him secure a 2-shot victory. Second place ended in a four-way tie between David Jankowski (Golf Garage VT), Brennan Earls (Northfield CC), Pete Scrimgeour, and Roger King who all shot 3-over 74.
