A story all of us can smile about…RHODE ISLAND PGA golf professionals Troy Pare (1st place, 63-69-67—199) and Matt Doyle (3rd place, 66-67-66—200) successfully competed against New England’s best young touring professionals in the 2014 Rhode Island Open at Agawam Hunt Club just three weeks ago.
In fact, just two other NEPGA members managed to make the incredibly low 36-hole cut line (141) in arguably the strongest regional field of the year. Wannamoisett’s PGA HP Pare beat recent college grad Richy Werenski on the first playoff hole capturing the trophy and a cool 5K. Doyle, five time Q-school veteran, HP in the winter at Dye Preserve & PGA Assistant at Misquamicut missed the playoff by just one shot!
