BOYLSTON, Mass.—The 2021 Cape Cod PGA tournament season once again featured many exciting moments for the Chapter’s dedicated Golf Professionals. As the tournament schedule came to an end on November 2nd at Eastward Ho!, so did the season long race for the Dutch Wessner Player of the Year Award.

The Dutch Wessner Award is given to the Chapter Player of the Year, who accumulates the most points throughout the season. Dutch Wessner was the head pro at Woods Hole Golf Club from 1952 until his retirement in 1990 was instrumental in founding the Cape Cod Chapter in the late 1970’s.

The 2021 recipient of the Dutch Wessner award is Greg Yeomans, PGA from The Bay Club at Mattapoisett. Totaling 122.75 points, Yeomans played fantastic golf throughout the season. He recorded 4 victories in his 9 starts, including his 4th career Chapter Championship which he won at New Seabury.

This marks Yeoman’s 7th career Dutch Wessner award, and his first since 2014 which ended his dominant run of 6 consecutive wins.

In second place, with a total of 99.38 points was Sandwich Hollows Golf Club’s Tom Tobey. Tobey, a 3-time Wessner Award Winner, rattled off 2 victories this season including his second career Match Play Championship.

Bob Miller of Kings Way Golf Club rounded out the top 3 finishers with 81.75 points. His best performances came at the Pro-Junior and Pro-Senior where he recorded second place finishes.
