The sudden death playoff took just one hole to determine the winner of the 2023 NEPGA Senior Championship. Calhoun was victorious as he shot an even-par on the par-4 1st hole to take home the cup for the first time.

“The meaning of this is truly amazing,” said Calhoun. “There are some really awesome players that have come before me, and two really great players that were out here in the playoff with me today… It’s a lot of years of work, a lot of years of effort, and a lot of failures, but this is my first Section Championship in any shape or form, so I am thrilled”.

Heintzelman and Hickey both bogeyed the playoff hole to claim a share of second place at the 2023 NEPGA Senior Championship.
