PGA PROFESSIONAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER
The NEPGA Section Championship serves as the Section’s PPC qualifier. 14 spots will be awarded to the top finishers (not including Rich Berberian Jr., who is exempt).  The PPC will be held on Date TBA, 2026 at Bandon Dunes in Bandon, OR.

The 2025 NEPGA Women’s Championship opens for registration on March 12, and closes on August 13th at 5pm.  All players must register through BlueGolf by clicking here.

REGISTRATION OPTIONS

Players wishing to register for ONLY the Women’s Championship must choose the $200 entry option.  Those wishing to ‘double-dip’ in the Women’s and Overall Championships must choose the $75 option on the Women’s Championship page, AND register for the overall Section Championship separately.

PGA PROFESSIONAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER
The NEPGA Senior Championship serves as the Section’s Senior PPC qualifier. Seven (7) spots will be awarded to the top finishers (not including Kirk Hanefeld, who is exempt).  The Senior PPC will be held on October 23-26, 2025 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL.

TEE IT FORWARD

The New England PGA will once again invite Professionals ages 65+ to “tee it forward,” in a separate forward tee division. This optional forward tee division will not be eligible for Senior PPC Qualifying or the overall Championship, but the division will feature its own prize purse for eligible Professionals who are concerned about the length of the course. It’s a great opportunity to compete and maybe earn some prize money, even if you don’t hit it as far as you used to. The Senior Championship isn’t just for long hitters anymore! Marblehead, Mass. – The New England PGA hosted the final round of the 104^th NEPGA Section Championship on Thursday, September 5^th at Tedesco Country Club. The 64 players who made the cut to the final round battled it out on the pristine fairways of Tedesco on the hunt to capture the Thomas Mahan Trophy. The contenders were also competing for 13 qualifying spots (not including Rich Berberian, Jr. who is exempt) into the 2025 PGA Professional Championship which will be held from April 27-30, 2025 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Ed Kirby, PGA (The Aquidneck Club) climbed the leaderboard through the final round to capture the 104^th New England PGA Section Championship for the second time in his career. He also won the Thomas Mahan trophy in 2012.

Marblehead, Mass. – The New England PGA Section hosted round 2 of the 104^th NEPGA Section Championship on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Tedesco CC and Ferncroft CC. The day also marked the conclusion of the 4^th NEPGA Section Women’s Championship. Seul-Ki Hawley, PGA (Winchester CC) clinched her second straight Women’s Championship title, shooting 4-over (142) overall. Greg Kelly, PGA (Myopia Hunt Club) holds onto the lead, shooting another even-par in round 2 at Tedesco today.

HYDE PARK, Mass. – The New England PGA Section concluded the final round of the 2024 NEPGA Section Senior Championship on Tuesday, July 23^rd at George Wright Golf Course. The day brought cloudier skies and cooler temperatures than round 1 on Monday. The 2013 NEPGA Section Senior Champion, Ed Kirby, PGA (The Aquidneck Club) led the way through round 1, starting the day at the top of the leaderboard at 2-under, 68. He held the lead through round 2, posting an impressive 3-under to finish 5-under overall, earning the 2024 NEPGA Senior Championship Title for a second time.

Seven qualifying spots at the 36th Senior PGA Professional Championship were up for grabs today. Kirk Hanefeld, PGA (LM) the 2008 and 2011 Senior PNC Champion, is exempt from qualifying.

Cranston, R.I. – The New England PGA Section hosted the final day of the NEPGA National Car Rental Assistants Championship on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Alpine Country Club. Round two saw calmer winds and higher temperatures as the groups teed off at 8 a.m. on the hunt for 6 qualifying spots in the PGA of America’s National Assistants Championship which will be held from November 14-17, 2024 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Rich Berberian, Jr., PGA (Vesper CC) came out victorious, shooting 3-under on the day and 7-under (137) overall to capture the title.

LINCOLN, R.I. – The 103^rd New England PGA Section Championship final round was held at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, R.I. Nestled in the beautiful Blackstone Valley, Kirkbrae is a par-72 championship golf course. Today, Kirkbrae is considered one of the best golf courses in New England.

It was a record-setting week for Rich Berberian, Jr., PGA (Vesper CC) and the New England PGA Section Championship.

Berberian’s record-breaking score of 59 in round 1 at Agawam Hunt paved the way for him to secure the Mahan Trophy with the lowest NEPGA Section Championship score in the tournament’s 103-year history, at 18-under.

LINCOLN, RI – Seul-Ki Hawley, PGA (Winchester Country Club), captured her first NEPGA Section Women’s Championship on Wednesday at Kirkbrae Country Club. She finished with a final score of 6-over, 147. Hawley came into the second round at 4-over, after shooting a 73, at Agawam Hunt Club on Tuesday. She tallied twelve pars and one birdie for a final first round score of 73. She finished the second round at Kirkbrae CC with a score of 2-over, 74. Hawley had an amazing front nine, netting seven pars and headed into the back nine at 2-over. She earned her first NEPGA Section Women’s Championship with a total score of 6-over, 147.

HYDE PARK, Mass.  – Jason Calhoun, PGA (Brown University), Webb Heintzelman, PGA (Turner Hill GC), and Scott Hickey, PGA (Cyprian Keyes GC) returned to George Wright GC on Tuesday, August 8^th to break a three-way tie in the NEPGA Senior Championship that was halted due to weather back on Tuesday, July 25^th.

CRANSTON, R.I. – The 2023 New England PGA National Car Rental PGA Assistant Professional Championship was held on Tuesday, September 26^th at Alpine Country Club in Cranston, Rhode Island. The Championship was originally scheduled as a 2-day, 36-hole event, but due to continued rain over the weekend and into Monday, the opening 18-hole round was canceled early Monday morning. The event moved to a solo round on Tuesday. Six qualifying spots for the National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port Saint Lucie, Florida in November were up for grabs today. Four alternate spots were also determined.

CHATHAM, Mass. – The 102nd New England PGA Section Championship final round was held at Eastward Ho!, an incredible links style course formatted to accentuate the Pleasant Bay of Chatham, Massachusetts. The par-71 course tips out at just 6,437 yards, but packs quite the punch, and features four par-3s and three par-5s. The course was developed by William Herbert Fowler and opened for play on July 3, 1922. Keither Foster renovated the course in 2004 to elevate its original features after a number of years of wear. Eastward Ho! celebrated its centennial year by hosting the thrilling 102nd NEPGA Section Championship.

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Shawn Warren (Falmouth CC – Maine), claimed his fifth New England PGA National Car Rental PGA Assistant Professional Championship title by a two-stroke margin at the Country Club of New Bedford on Tuesday, September 27^th. He shot a two-under 68 in round one and shot six-over in round two to clinch the victory with a four-over 144.. Warren added 2022 to his list of Assistant Championship victories as he also claimed the trophy in 2011, 2016, 2017 and 2020.

WOODSTOCK, Vt. – Dale Abraham (Cape Arundel GC) carded his second consecutive round of 68 for a two-day total of 136 and a one-shot victory over Kirk Hanefeld (Salem CC) in the 2022 NEPGA Senior Championship. This was Abraham’s second consecutive NEPGA Senior Championship title as he won the event in 2021.

WORCESTER, Mass. – Rich Berberian (Vesper CC) carded his second consecutive 67 at Worcester Country Club to finish with a three-day total of 203 (-8) and capture a three-shot victory in the 101st New England PGA Section Championship.
